Children and Youth

Children

At the 9:30 service we have a “preschool room” for potty trained 3 year olds through kindergarten and an “elementary room” for 1st through 5th graders.

At the 11:00 service we will have one combined KidMin room for potty trained 3 year olds through 3rd grade. We are also hoping to have the nursery open at both servicesfor ages 0 through 3!

If you are interested in helping in KidMin or have any questions, please email Sarah Moore sarahmoore@newalbanyumc.com. If you have a child entering 6th grade or above this year and would like information about our Youth Ministry, please email Pastor Heather Nordgren hnordgren@newalbanyumc.com.

Multiple Options for Children and Worship

Both of our services are family friendly and children are welcome to attend worship with you.

During both services we also have the option of KidMin, which is our Kid’s Worship Program. Keeping Children Safe

is a commitment we make through our staff training and utilization of Safe Sanctuaries® Guidelines and

Policies. Our ushers can provide you with activity / coloring clip boards for your children when they join you

in worship. Our 9:30 and 11am services are also telecast to our lobby, which can also be a comfortable

option when caring for your small children.

KidMin! Kids Worship

Sunday mornings for Kids age 3 and over

Children ages 3 and over are invited to attend, KidMin, a worship experience designed for kids. The children will sing songs, learn about their loving God, play games, meet new friends, and maybe even create something beautiful related to the Bible lesson. Please check your children in through our online sign up.

All our staff and volunteers in Children and Youth Ministries are trained in the United Methodist Safe Sanctuary policy, and all receive background checks. Please note: our children and youth programs are always special-needs friendly.

Our mission

To help teens answer these 3 questions that they are searching answers to.

“Who Am I, Where do I belong and What is my purpose?”

We will be cultivating a spirit of courage, faith, and love for others through our study of scripture, building of relationships in small groups, prayer, attending overnight retreats, and serving others.

I AM youth

Sunday mornings for youth grades 6-12

9:30 & 11am

Sunday morning is a perfect time to connect with others your age.

We spend our time together discovering who we are in God, what is our purpose and how we can make a difference. This happens when we explore God’s story through reading, discussing listening to others, and asking questions. We connect with each other through fun activities, listening to music, prayer, sharing our gifts and offerings, and participating in ways that will serve others.

We meet in the youth room that is off of the east hallway next to the Centrum (Redemption Worship Center.)

Keep your eyes open for our “i AM youth” logo.

Classes are lead by Pastor Heather Nordgren, other adult leaders, and interesting guests.
