Upward 2010 Season Information

Upward Flag Football and Cheerleading are for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Practice is once a week for an hour. Games are once a week on Sunday afternoon. Every player gets equal playing time. Tackles are made by pulling the ball carrier's flag. Blocking or knocking players down is prohibited. Mouth guards are required. Cleats (non-metal) are recommended.

Panthers:  Mondays 6-7 P.M.
Bulldogs:  Tuesdays 6:40-7:40 P.M.
Hawkeyes:  Tuesdays 6:40-7:40 P.M.
Longhorns:  Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 P.M.
Aggies:  Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 P.M.
Buckeyes:  Thursdays 5:30-6:30 P.M.
Wolfpack:  Fridays 5:30-6:30 P.M.
Wildcats:  Fridays 5:30-6:30 P.M.
Tigers:  Fridays 6:30-7:30 P.M.
Red Raiders:  Fridays 6:30-7:30 P.M.

Upward Flag Football and Cheerleading

Every child plays
    Every child learns
        Every child is a winner.

Upward promotes character and self-esteem in every child by:

  • Providing an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities
  • Establishing a one-hour practice and game each week
  • Implementing a substitution system for each team, allowing every child equal playing time
  • Creating the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game

Upward is more than a game. Your child will have fun learning or improving their sport specific skills through Upward. Participating in this league will give your child a chance to experience good sportsmanship on and off the field. While playing or cheering for Upward Flag Football, your child will also recieve a special recognition award after every game and have the opportunity to develop new friendships.

Along with this unique sports experience, your child will receive the following:

  • Upward reversible jersey
  • Flag belt and flags
  • Upward wrist coach
  • End-of-season award

When your child cheers for Upward Flag Football, they will be able to sign-up individually, not as a squad. They will also learn techniques to improve their cheerleading skills

Along with this unique sports experience, your child will receive the following:

  • Upward cheerleading uniform
  • Upward cheerleading megaphone
  • Upward poms
  • End-of-season award

Games will be played at the church Sunday afternoons. Practices will be at the church. Dates and times may vary by team/squad.
